National Women's Day march themed 'I'm not part of it', takes silent stand against violence and abuse

For the fourth consecutive year, thousands of women, men and children, marched 5km in absolute silence, from the Maponya Mall in Soweto to the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God's (UCKG's) Diepkloof Church, taking a stand against violence and abuse. Youth Day on 16 June commemorates the Soweto uprising in 1976 when high school students protested against the use of Afrikaans as the medium for instruction in their schools. Marking the day 38 years later, 15,000 young people, dressed in their school uniforms, attended an event organised by the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (UCKG) in all nine provinces. UCKG donates spiritual books to Rooigrond Correctional Centre library for North West region

The Universal Church of the Kingdom of God's Prison Ministry Group is donating more than a thousand copies of spiritual books to various correctional centre libraries throughout the country.
